Start Here: This is Route Rewritten

There comes a point where you realize the life you’re living doesn’t quite match the one you imagined.

Not in a dramatic, everything-falls-apart kind of way. More like a quiet awareness that something has shifted—and you can’t unsee it.

That’s where this started.

Route Rewritten isn’t about starting over. It’s about choosing differently.

It’s about midlife, and the courage it takes to stop going through the motions and start asking better questions.

What actually matters now?

What do I want this next part of my life to look like?

What am I willing to change to get there?

For me, some of those answers have shown up on the road—traveling, getting out of my routine, seeing things differently.

And some of them have shown up right where I am—in the day-to-day work, in the responsibility, in the moments that feel heavy but meaningful.

This space holds all of it.

You’ll find stories from the road.

You’ll find reflections on work, purpose, and the weight that can come with caring deeply.

You’ll find the in-between moments—the ones that don’t always have clear answers but matter just as much.

I don’t have everything figured out.

That’s not the point.

The point is that I’m paying attention now.

I’m choosing to stay in the life I’m building, even when it’s hard.

I’m learning that growth doesn’t always look like change—it can look like commitment, too.

If you’re here, maybe you’re in a similar place.

Not lost.

Not starting over.

Just… ready to rewrite what matters.

Start wherever you want. But if you’re not sure, these are a few good places:

  • The Weight of Something That Matters: The Part of Purpose No One Talks About

  • When the Plans Change, Go Anyway

  • This Season Still Counts

I’m really glad you’re here.

This Season Still Counts

The truth is, being injured sucks. It’s been months since I’ve laced up my shoes and hit the pavement. What’s harder is watching everyone around me still running—training for races, showing up to grou

When the plans change, go anyway

The Trip That Wasn’t the Plan One of my goals this year was simple: spend more time outside, more time moving, more time in nature. Back in April, the plan was to hike at Santa Fe Lake in Augusta. But
